Gao Shi is an eminent Chinese poet in Tang Dynasty

 

Gao Shi :(700-765 ), Gao Shi is an eminent Chinese poet in Tang Dynasty,  also known as “Gao Changshi”. Gao Shi and Cen Shen are called “Gao and Cen”, with his works full of magnificence, power, vigor and ambition specific to the middle period of Tang Dynasty.

The yellow clouds outspread for miles have veiled the day,

The north wind blows away wild geese and brings down snow.

Don’t worry you’ll meet no more old friends on your way!

There’s no connoisseur but knows you where’er you go.

Miss Zhang is dressed with high hat, loose sleeves, straitened waist,

She’s walking leisurely enjoying the cool night.

Knocking at the courtyard bamboos with her hairpin,

She sings sweetly to make the moon as cool as frost.

Facing a cold lamp in hotel I can not sleep,

Why does my sadness far from home become so deep?

Tonight my dear ones far at home are missing me,

A new year and more grey hairs of mine morrow’ll see.
