A Businessman and His Four Wives
One man of wealth had four wives. He loved the youngest most and spoiled her with the most beautiful clothes, the delicacies and all the best things available in the world.
Of course, he loved the third wife, too. He was proud of her and always flaunted her beauty among his friends. However, he was in fear of her elopement with other men.
His second wife was very considerate and patient and was his confidant. In fact, the man trusted her and always came to her whenever he was in trouble. She always helped him out.
The first wife was very loyal and contributed a lot by helping around with business and housework. Although she loved the businessman very much, he didn’t love her and he ignored her.
One day, the man was ill and felt he would die before long in solitude. He asked his fourth wife, “I love you most. Will you follow me and be my companion after I die?”
“No way!” she said, and stalked off.
The man was hurt badly, and asked the third one, “I love you so much. Will you follow me?”
“No, I will marry again as soon as you die!” she answered.
“You always help me out. Will you be my companion?” he asked the second wife.
“I can’t help you this time. I am sorry but I can accompany you to the graveyard.” said she.
Only the first wife said, “I will go you wherever you go.”
Seeing her as thin as a lathe, he regretted not treated her well before.
